As an Army veteran and history buff, Samuel dreamed of visiting Washington D.C. and seeing the nation’s capital. He hoped to see all the typical tourist attractions, but his biggest priority was touring the Capitol building. Samuel’s hospice social worker knew travel of any kind would be difficult, so she connected with Project 4031 to provide the necessary support to make his dream a reality. With the help of some wonderful friends, Project 4031 made travel and hotel arrangements for Samuel and his brother, Mark, to visit Washington D.C. Project 4031 also provided tickets for a Big Bus tour to see all the major attractions, so Samuel could explore the city comfortably and go at his own pace based on how he was feeling each day. The brothers had a wonderful trip and enjoyed spending quality time together making memories. It was an unforgettable experience for them to just enjoy each other and our nation’s capital.
